Kamensky♦Cohen is led by Jerrold Kamensky, a graduate of Georgetown University Law School in Washington, D.C. Following several years as an attorney with the government, Mr. Kamensky formed a partnership with Laurence Tomar, now Managing Partner of our Pennsylvania office. The firm eventually located to a building on Broad Street in Trenton across from the courthouse in which Mr. Kamensky has remained practicing law for the surrounding communities for over 35 years. Kamensky♦Cohen now has their main offices in this location with additional offices in Pennington NJ and Yardley PA. Mr. Kamensky is a New Jersey Certified Civil Trial Attorney, a designation provided to a relatively small number of Attorneys in recognition for their skill and continuing education in the practice of law in that state. He has appeared in all levels of the courts from municipal to Federal as well as having the honor of appearing before the Supreme Court of the United States arguing an important Free Speech case State vs. Schmid. His leadership provides Kamensky♦Cohen with a wealth of experience and contacts in both states and promises our clients representation of the highest order.

While attending law school at Widener University School of Law, he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, a membership that recognizes students having attained excellence in the art of appellate advocacy. Admitted to practice in 1993 in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Mr. Cohen joined Kamensky♦Cohen in 1996 after a two year clerkship with the Honorable Howland Abramson, Court of Common Pleas, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When he proved to be an exceptional lawyer displaying well reasoned creative solutions for which our clients expressed great appreciation, he was made Partner in the then formed Kamensky♦Cohen & Associates in 2004.  He continues to be an outstanding advocate and problem solver for our clients in the areas of  Corporate Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation, Product Liability Matters, Professional Malpractice and other complex Litigation.

Mr. Tomar, a graduate of Rutgers University School of Law in 1968, has been in private practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania since 1973. An early partner of  Mr. Kamensky’s in the law firm of Tomar & Kamensky, Mr. Tomar branched off to pursue a successful solo practice in Bucks County Pennsylvania.  Now back as a Partner at Kamensky♦Cohen since 2006, managing our Pennsylvania office, he brings his 35+ years of experience to the firm in the areas of Family Law including Divorce and Mediation, Real Estate and Land Use. In addition to his legal expertise, Mr. Tomar is fluent in Spanish, a language talent and passion he developed through classes and honed “watching Spanish TV and movies.”  He acts as an interpreter for our Spanish speaking clients in all areas of the Law for our Firm.

Mr. Laderman attended Temple University Beasley School of Law making Dean’s List and earning an award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy.  He first clerked for Kamensky♦Cohen while still in law school in 2004 becoming an Associate upon his graduation and entrance to the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bars soon thereafter in 2005.  Mr. Laderman proved himself as a valuable asset training with Mr. Philip Whitcomb, our veteran Labor Attorney, on the many facets and nuances of Labor Law.  In addition, Mr. Laderman has trained with the Partners in Personal Injury and other Civil Litigation matters. His professionalism and talent has been praised by both his mentors and clients.

Philip B. Whitcomb, Esquire is Kamensky♦Cohen’s experienced Employment and Labor Law Attorney. We are fortunate to have Mr. Whitcomb, the former Director of Office of Employee Relations for the State of New Jersey, and a former Vice President of Labor Relations for Trans World Airlines having served that airline twice, under two separate management groups.  Mr. Whitcomb is Of Counsel to Kamensky♦Cohen and acts on behalf of the firm in matters involving Labor Law, Labor Negotiations and as an invaluable aid in formulating our approach to Labor litigation matters.  Mr. Whitcomb’s years of relationships with many local labor leaders helps to facilitate rapid and successful contract negotiations.  In addition, he oversees and mentors our younger Associates in Employment & Labor Law.  Through his efforts, we are providing our clients with top representation in these areas.

A graduate of Widener University School of Law, Mr. Cox’s 15 year legal career has encompassed experience in Workers’ Compensation, Criminal Defense, Zoning and Planning, Civil Litigation, Liquor Licensing and Real Estate. He now primarily concentrates his practice on handling our Firm’s individual Workers’ Compensation cases and all of Kamensky♦Cohen’s client,  the New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s, Workers’ Compensation defense cases.

Curt's expertise for Kamensky♦Cohen is in the area of workers' compensation. He handles the development and resolution of many of those cases, which includes our contract with the NJ Turnpike Authority. In addition, Curt handles real estate and various other legal transactional negotiation. Mr. Aronson has been an attorney in the Mercer County Community since 1966 and provides services for Kamensky♦Cohen’s clients in his areas of expertise which includes Wills and Trust Document Preparation and Administration, Tax and Estate Planning and Elder Law. His practice also focuses on business law and taxation, including closely-held corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and proprietorship operations. He is admitted to practice before the tax court of the United States and is a member of the New Jersey Bar and the American Bar Association.  His wealth of experience and information in these areas contributes to the services we can offer you as both an individual planning your own financial affairs and negotiating the tax laws for your business or corporation. In addition, we use his knowledge and expertise in helping to formulate litigation strategies for business, labor and settlements to include the most beneficial tax consequences.

Mr Gombar began his legal career in the coal fields of Western Virginia where he divided his time between labor negotiation and criminal litigation as a Partner in the firm of Lemmond and Gombar.

In 1991 he joined Opinion Research Corporation as Corporate Counsel, ultimately becoming General Counsel and C.O.O. during the period that Opinion Research Corporation grew from a $10 million subsidized subsidiary of Arthur D. Little Company to a publicly traded corporation with a $250 million market capitalization.

In 2001 Mr. Gombar became General Counsel and C.O.O. of Catalyst Communications while developing a private practice specializing in Municipal Court and Corporate Law. At the beginning of 2008 Mr. Gombar joined the Rutgers University Business School and serves the Rutgers Business School Dean as Senior Associate Dean, again, the functional equivalent of C.O.O., a title which does not exist in academia. Seeking the most qualified home for his private practice Thomas Gombar has become of counsel to Kamensky♦Cohen a relationship which grew out of his admiration for the Kamensky♦Cohen attorneys he faced as adversaries.

Ms. Teufel is a recent graduate of Widener University School of Law. She graduated with Pro Bono distinction in 2008 as she aided in providing legal services free of charge to financially distressed individuals throughout her law school career. She began her career at Kamensky♦Cohen as a law clerk in 2007. Upon her admittance to both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars, she was elevated to an Associate with the firm in 2008. She is currently being mentored in several areas of Civil Litigation, including personal injury, from the knowledgeable and experienced Partners of the firm, Jerrold Kamensky and Philip Cohen. Previous to her employment with Kamensky♦Cohen she interned with the Public Defender's Office in Cape May County. She also served as a mediator for small claims, private criminal complaints and landlord tenant disputes with the Philadelphia Municipal Court from 2007 to 2008. Ms. Teufel's practical experience combined with the legal experience she received at Kamensky♦Cohen as a law clerk, makes her an asset to this firm. Ms. Teufel looks forward to a long lasting relationship with Kamensky♦Cohen .

Ms. Carpenter joined Kamensky Cohen after a year long judicial clerkship in the Mercer County Superior Court for the Honorable Judges Thomas P. Kelly, J.S.C. (ret.), Charles A. Delehey, J.S.C. (ret.), and Robert C. Billmeier, J.S.C. During her clerkship Ms. Carpenter gained an immense amount of knowledge regarding all aspects of the criminal process and developed a working relationship with members of the Criminal Division.

Prior to her clerkship, Ms. Carpenter graduated from Roger Williams University School of Law in Bristol, Rhode Island, where she received the 2008 Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence and the 2008 Feinstein Public Service Award for her pro bono work throughout law school. During law school, Ms. Carpenter also participated in the school’s Mediation Clinic through which she mediated divorce, child custody, visitation, and landlord-tenant disputes. While living in Rhode Island, Ms. Carpenter successfully co-mediated a highly publicized land use dispute between the board of directors for Rhode Island’s Blithewold Mansion and a neighboring homeowners’ association.

A lifelong resident of Mercer County, Ms. Carpenter graduated from The Peddie School in 2001 and received her undergraduate degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania in 2005. Ms. Carpenter does criminal and family law work for Kamensky Cohen and looks forward to a long-lasting relationship with the firm.
